OceanHope Ghana – Empowering Youth to Fight Plastic Pollution Through Innovation and Art

Gideon Sintim Aboagye

Plastic pollution is choking Ghana’s coastlines, damaging marine life and local economies. With poor waste management, plastics flood the ocean daily. Coastal youth face high unemployment and limited opportunities. This crisis threatens nature and lives.

OceanHope Ghana empowers coastal youth to collect plastic waste and transform it into eco-bricks, art, and reusable products. Through training, clean-up events, and school programs, the project turns pollution into purpose—restoring beaches, creating jobs, and inspiring environmental action in local communities. It’s innovation, education, and impact in one movement.
