MANGROVE YOUTH WARRIORS *Restoring 5 Hectares of wetlands & Training 100 Students in Blue Carbon Conservation

Khadija Faraj Salim

mangroves are disappearing at alarming rate (1-2% loss yearly),worsening coastal erosion, carbon emissions, and loss of marine life. Local communities lack awareness of mangroves roles in carbon sequestration(1 hectare stores ~1000 tons of Co2).

*restoration-plant 10,000 mangroves using community led planting days .*education-workshops on blue carbon, biodiversity monitoring and eco advocacy. while training 100 local students in blue carbon conservation , sustainable livelihoods and ecosystem monitoring . By engaging youth as mangrove warriors we will combat climate change ,protect biodiversity , and empower the next generation of ocean stewards. This project deserves the award because of * innovation-combines hands on restoration with youth education and blue carbon advocacy. *scalability -model can expand to other coastal regions. *impact- addresses climate change , biodiversity loss and youth empowerment under one initiative
